News:

-Commercial Bank branches return to work and inventory begins to feed ATMs and put them into service.

-The return of school and university hours and work in government and private institutions and facilities.

-The head of the Syrian Engineers Syndicate, Malek Haj Ali, issued a decision to reinstate engineers whose names were removed from the Syndicate’s records for security reasons, due to the injustice and persecution they suffered. According to the decision, the period of cancellation is calculated for practicing the profession and engineering ranks. Security-cleared engineers visit their branches to settle their status.

Statements from Foreign Leaders/Organizations:

-UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen: We are monitoring the situation and looking forward to what will happen regarding the political transition. We work with different segments of the Syrian people and state institutions must start working fully while ensuring their security. We hope to see a quick end to sanctions on Syria and for the recovery process to begin soon. We do not want any revenge operations in Syria and state institutions must start working fully with security guaranteed for them.

-French Foreign Minister: A French diplomatic mission will visit Damascus on Tuesday.

-Iraqi Prime Minister: We emphasize non-interference in internal affairs and helping the Syrians overcome this difficult stage.

-Qatari Foreign Ministry: During our meetings with the interim government in Syria, we confirmed our support for the Syrian people to achieve their security. We discussed with the Syrian side ways to enhance the flow of Qatari humanitarian aid, and the needs of our Syrian brothers at this important stage. Resuming work of our embassy in Syria starting Tuesday.

-UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs: UAE condemns Israeli government’s decision to expand settlements in occupied Golan.

-Iraqi Foreign Ministry: The decision of the Zionist entity’s government to expand its settlement policy in the occupied Syrian Golan represents a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions. The Foreign Ministry affirms Iraq’s firm and supportive position on the rights of the Syrian Arab Republic to regain its full sovereignty over its lands. The Golan is an occupied Syrian territory and any measures aimed at changing its legal and demographic status are null and void. The Foreign Ministry calls on the international community to take a firm stance to condemn the Zionist entity’s ongoing violations and to work seriously to protect the unity and sovereignty of Syrian lands and ensure the achievement of security and stability in the region.

-U.S. State Department: The security situation in Syria remains volatile and unpredictable, so US citizens should leave Syria if possible.

-Ahmad al-Shar’a: A study is underway to raise salaries by 400% in Syria. All factions will be dissolved and there will be no weapons except in the hands of the state. The first priorities are to rebuild the destroyed homes and return the displaced to the last tent. There will be no compulsory military service, except for some specialties that will be compulsory for short periods.
